Geology of the Baldwin Hills

 
Main Menu There has been significant study of the geology of the Baldwin Hills in a large part due to Inglewood oil fields, which exist within the Baldwin Hills. There is a fault that runs beneath the hills. Additionally, much was learned by studying the Baldwin Hills Dam Collapse, which occured in 1963 (this is descibed on the history page). Significant geological information on Baldwin Hills, derived from studies of the Dam Collaps can be found in the April 23rd 1971 Issue of Science:
